MACONAQUAH HIGH SCHOOL HOSTS ALL-STATE PLAY REHEARSAL

BUNKER HILL - For the first time in about five years, Indiana Thespians has revived the all-state play, casting the cream of the crop high school actors for the production of “Holes,” written by Louis Sacher.

Included in the 20-student cast are three Maconaquah High School students n Jonathan Gill, Roberto Mantica and Tyler Rose. The other 17 cast members are from Merrillville, Burris, Brownsburg, Lake Central, Carmel, Greenfield Central, Penn and Blackford schools.

The stage manager, set designer and sound technician are from Greenwood Community and Culver schools.

Director Michael Daehn, assistant professor in theatre education at Ball State University, said more than 40 students auditioned for a role in the play.
