Retiring ‘Spam King' ready to garden

Mike Cook has probably spent more time in a fifth grade classroom than anyone else. From the time he began his teaching career with Peru Community Schools in 1971, Cook taught fifth graders at South Peru Elementary until the 1990-91 school year when Blair Pointe Elementary opened. Cook continued to teach the fifth grade for 17 more years.
