What did previous council members think of the fence?

Tribune Staff Report
This is the actually the second time representatives from the David Levin Company Inc. requested being able to install a fence in front of their property. In August 2006, the Miami County Council, which had different members than now, would not approve the company's tax abatement with a fence. Allen Durst, operations manager, had requested the fence, saying it would provide more security and appeal but the council then would not approve the tax abatement without trees or the arborvitae bushes being required as originally planned. They said the fence could still be seen through.
This week, Durst told the new council that the slotted, chain link fence would block 85 percent of visibility to the facility across the entire front. In addition, the trees or bushes were impractical because of changes to the septic system.
