A cabinet company that has called Miami County home for about 11 years is expanding it business, and soon its workforce too.
The Sugar Creek Cabinet and Sign Company started out making cabinets for remodelings at the Estates at Eagles Pointe, and has recently begun making high-quality cabinets, cabinet doors and signage for residential and business customers also.

General Manager Glenn Sholty said the company just purchased Building 220 at the Grissom Aeroplex to expand their production facility to accommodate making doors and countertops, too. Sugar Creek currently has 16 employees, a number the manager wants to double by the end of the year.
“I'd like to have 30 or 40 employees, and for a five-year projection about 200,” Sholty said. “We have a good future ahead of us here.”
The new building is 25,000 square feet and Sholty thinks it will take about six months to renovate it.
As the head designer for the company, Sholty said he has 20 years experience in the woodworking field. He explained that Sugar Creek has an upper line of cabinetry and a lower, production line, which are available for commercial, real estate and residential customers. His sales team plans to target large construction companies to land contracts for the growing business, but Sugar Creek will also provide quality custom service to area residents looking to remodel their homes. They also make property signs like the ones at Eagles Pointe, Coroplast signs and banners.
“We can do all the cabinets and signs for a property on one invoice,” he said.
