Three Wabash residents were arrested on cocaine charges in Wabash Tuesday.

Adam Heater was charged with dealing over three grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class A felony; possession of cocaine, a Class D felony; possession of Xanax, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony; neglect of a dependent, a Class D felony; and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.

Brittney Heater was charged with possession of cocaine under three grams, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony; neglect of a dependent, a Class D felony; and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.

Dutton was charged with dealing cocaine over three grams within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class A felony; and possession of cocaine, a Class D felony.

All three were in the Wabash County Jail as of press time.

Approximately two weeks ago, officers started a criminal investigation into possible drug dealing at a Wabash residence, according to the press release.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday officers made a traffic stop on a full-size Chevrolet van at Manchester and Noble streets in Wabash. During the stop officers conducted a search allegedly finding approximately three-and-half grams of cocaine. Dutton, who was a passenger in the car, was arrested and incarcerated at the Wabash County Jail with no bond.

Further investigation led officers to obtain a search warrant on an apartment at 1937 Vernon St. in Wabash. Offices allegedly found cocaine, marijuana and Xanax. Renters of the apartment, Brittany and Adam Heater, were taken into custody. Their two-year-old daughter, who was also present at the apartment, was placed with Wabash County Child Protective Services until she could be released to her grandparents.
